What you’ll learn:
This 4-lesson beginner course is targeted for absolute beginners in watercolor painting. You will learn the basics, including essential techniques, color mixing, and hands-on exercises. By the end, you'll be able to create your own beautiful artworks. Art materials for this course will be provided.
Art Materials:
Watercolor paints (basic set)
Watercolor brushes (round and flat, various sizes)
Watercolor paper (140 lb cold-press)
Palette for mixing colors
Masking tape
Pencil and eraser
Course content:

Objectives:
Familiarize students with watercolor materials.
Teach basic watercolor techniques.
Topics Covered:
Overview of watercolor supplies.
Preparing your workspace.
Basic brush handling and strokes.
Techniques: Wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush, and washes.
Activities:
Demonstration of each technique.
Practice exercises: Create a series of swatches using different techniques.
Practice basic technique by creating a simple watercolor card or bookmark.

Understand primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
Learn how to mix colors and create gradients.

Introduction to the color wheel.
Mixing primary colors to create secondary and tertiary colors.
Creating gradients and color transitions.
Understanding warm and cool colors.

Practice mixing colors and creating a color wheel.
Create a gradient exercise with at least three different colors.
Paint a simple landscape using mixed colors and gradients learned in class.
