What you’ll learn:

This course is ideal for both complete beginners and those with some experience looking to improve their watercolor skills. Each lesson explores a different theme while experimenting with watercolor techniques, mixed with other mediums like ink, pastel, and pencils. By the end, you'll have the confidence to create your own beautiful artworks. All materials and supplies are provided.

Course content:

  • We will explore autumn color palettes—warm reds, oranges, yellows, and earthy tones—while learning basic watercolor washes, wet-on-wet blending, and dry brush techniques to create textured fall foliage.

  • Learn to combine ink pen techniques with watercolor to add structure and depth to fall city landscapes, outlining tree branches, leaves, and buildings with pen and using watercolor washes for vibrant skies, forests, and fields.

  • Explore how to enhance fall landscapes by layering soft pastels over watercolor, creating rich textures and depth. Learn to blend the two mediums to capture the vibrant colors and tactile feel of autumn scenery.

  • In the final lesson of this 4-part series, we will explore loose ink and watercolor techniques combined with soft pastel to create a charming fall urban scene. The mix of media will bring warmth and texture to vibrant autumn colors and city details, perfect for capturing the cozy atmosphere of the season.
